A band that have got their own chapter in The International Encyclopaedia of Doom, Candlemass released the first masterpiece in 1986, the classic “Epicus Doomicus Metallicus”. From that moment on we judge heaviness with new eyes.

Massive sales both in Europe and in the States brought Candlemass into the charts in England and Germany and the American Billboard chart. After nearly half a million sales on both sides of the Atlantic, Candlemass disappeared from the scene in 1993, they wanted to quit while still on top.

A few years after the Candlemass remasters was to be released and the band was in 2002 discussing a reunion, they all met for the first time in many years and the meeting was a total success. The boys are now back in the studio to record a new album and are getting prepared to take on the world in 2005.
