Chante Phillips is a Cape Town–based drummer from South Africa whose versatile playing has taken her to some of the country’s most prominent music festivals, stages, and cultural events. Over the years, she has performed at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, Montreux Festival, Jazzathon Cape Town, Rocking the Daisies, and the Access Music in Africa Conference in Tanzania, as well as events such as the EatOut Woolworths Awards and productions at Artscape Theatre.
Her performance credits also include the Netflix production Queen Charlotte music video and rap party. Chante has shared the stage and collaborated with a diverse range of acclaimed artists, including Zolani Mahola, Karen Zoid, Frank Paco, Victor Masondo, Bheki Khoza, Mark Fransman, Melorie Jane, and Jitsvinger.
With a strong foundation in jazz and a broad musical versatility, Chante continues to establish herself as an exciting drummer within South Africa’s vibrant music scene.
