As a child, Felix started beating on pots with cooking spoons. His parents enrolled him in music school in Konstanz, where he took his first drum lessons. At age 10 he got his first drum kit as a Christmas present from his parents, which he played practically non-stop. At school he had the opportunity to also play kettle drum and xylophones. His teacher put him in the percussion group he managed, giving Felix his first concert experiences.

Felix’s first contact with Heavy Metal music was the program “Hard1n1Heavy” on Tele 5. He saw some W.A.S.P. and Iron Maiden videos and at the time thought, “What terrible stuff is that?” A couple months later Felix was in the middle of Heavy Metal, having found his style of music.

At 15, he moved to Marburg and began taking lessons again. In a short time he found people with common musical interests and formed his first band "Merciless Gnom.” Later, he became a member of a second regional group named “Exile,” which was founded by one of Gnom’s guitar players. He also founded a cover band which did many fun projects, but unfortunately made no live performances.

In 2002, Felix got a call from Tobi of Edguy who was looking for a drummer. Felix had never heard of them before, but went to audition and was selected. Since, his life has been filled with a lot of live performances and a lot of work.
