Sascha, the son of a Portugese father and German mother, was born on 10 May 1979 in Hamburg, Germany. At age 10 he discovered an interest in music, at first piano – to his parent’s delight—and then later drums – to his parent’s dismay.

He started plalying in a band called World Freak Show and moved to Das Inferno, known for performing along side groups such as Fettes Brot, Der Tobi und das Bo, Freundeskreis and Cucumber Men. Das Inferno played in a number of band competitions and were runners-up in Oxmox and reached the finals for the John Lennon Talent Award. At age 16 he had two performances at Grosse Freiheit, St. Pauli, the stage to the world! It was then that Sascha realized music was going to be a large part of his life.

After a long period looking in vain for equally naïve and motivated musicians, he met the Hamburg Daydreamers. After a five-minute jam session in the rehearsal room they mutually realized that they had found what they had been looking for. 4LYN was born!
