Born in Lima - Peru on February 26 of 1980, Alvaro started to love music at the age of 8, when a cousin gave him a tape with the “Magical Mystery Tour” album by the Beatles.

When he was 14 years old, he formed his first band with some friends, where he played the lead guitar. As the time passed by, he found he loved more to play the drums, so he changed his instrument and started a long journey learning to play the drums. He bought his first drumset at the age of 18.

Alvaro played with many bands where he learnt different styles of music and creation, from Classic to progressive rock. He played with the local band “Afonía”, whose principal achievement was an award for the best university band in 2000. They played progressive rock such as “Liquid Tension Experiment”. In 2001 he started to play also with the band “Space Bee”, and recorded an EP on 2002.

He always looked for new musical experiences. That’s how he finally joined “Era” in 2005, where he found a new challenge, playing for a mature project.

Some of his principal influences are: The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, I mother Earth, Kula Shaker and Muse. His favorite drummers are: Carter Beauford, Mike Portnoy, Sean Kinney, and of course, the best drum performer Peru has ever made: Alex Acuña.

His goal is to express in a unique and personal performance, by giving the best to help “Era” to be a big band, first in Peru and then worldwide. He never wants to stop expressing through the music, that helps him find peace and calm.
