Malcolm Cross was born in London and was educated at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. His first major tour experience as a professional drummer was with Spiritualized, who toured with Radiohead in 1997 on the OK Computer Tour.

Malcolm came to Los Angeles in 1999 with Minibar to record the band’s debut album, Road Movies. The album was produced by T-Bone Burnett. After the record, Malcolm decided to stay in America and since has continued as a member of Minibar and has also performed and recorded with Pete Yorn, The Wallflowers, Doctor John, Ron Sexsmith, David Baerwald (of David and David,) Adam Cohen (son of Leonard,) Minnie Driver and Bic Runga (New Zealand's number one artist) among many others.

His playing is featured on the movie soundtracks of Shrek 2, American Pie 3, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Heartbreakers. He has also performed for the television shows The OC and MTV Road Rules. Additionally he has appeared twice on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and KTLA News Morning Edition.

You can also hear Malcolm's playing on many nationally-aired television commercials including those for Earthlink, Mastercard, Marshall’s and Cadillac. As Malcolm comments, "It's not so obviously glamorous, but true. Heck, at least LA's ad agencies still use real musicians occasionally!"

2005 will be a busy year for Malcolm. Minibar's third album should be out by the summer and he's working on a follow-up to his first solo record. In addition, Minibar is currently acting as Pete Yorn's new band.
