Mapex Meridian Maple won the MIPA 2009 AWARD of the best acoustic drum 2008/2009

MIPA- Muzikmesse International Press Award is the “Grammy” of the Musical Instrument/Pro Audio industry. This year MIPA celebrated his 10th Anniversary.

Mapex was nominee for MIPA 2009 in drums category with the Meridian Maple and in Drum Hardware category with the 700 series hardware, two new product lines of Mapex for 2009.

More than 300 international representatives of manufacturers and distributors of musical instruments and audio equipment attended this big show including guests from the US, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, South Africa, Russia, Poland, Great Britain, Italy, France, Greece, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and more.

112 magazines from all over the world voted for the best products of 2008/2009 in about 40 categories. The awards has been presented to the winners at a special MIPA-Party/Awards-Ceremony held during Musikmesse / Prolight + Sound (Germany, frankfurt), on Thursday, 2nd of April. 2009. And the first nominee in drums category is The Mapex Meridian Maple which won the MIPA award for the best acoustic drum 2008/2009. The MIPA judges were particularly impressed with the quality, value and sonic performance of new the Mapex Meridian Maple series.

New for 2009, the Mapex Meridian Maple ushers in a new level of quality and functionality in mid-level, all maple drum sets. With a completely new lug and redesigned lightweight Isolated Tom Mounting System, the Meridian Series features bright and resonant all maple shells in a wide selection of lacquered and covered finishes. Each Meridian drum set is also equipped with all new, feature-packed Mapex 700 Series hardware.

Along with the introduction of the Meridian Series comes the introduction of Mapex’s newly designed Isolated Tom Mount System. This version of the system is significantly lighter in weight and lower in profile than before and is more easily mounted and adjusted.
